Free 3D file converter

Convert STL, OBJ, PLY, GLTF, GLB, 3MF, DAE, OFF, STEP, IGES and BREP files straight in your browser. No upload, no account, no watermark, no export cap. Every file is read and written on your own machine, so your models never leave your computer.

This one needs a desktop. It runs a live 3D viewport next to a CAD kernel, which wants a wide screen, a mouse to orbit the model, and desktop-class memory. Open this page on a laptop or desktop and the full tool loads.

What it does

  • Mesh conversion. Move between STL, OBJ, PLY, GLB, glTF, 3MF, DAE, OFF and USDZ, keeping materials and textures where the target format supports them.
  • CAD tessellation. STEP, IGES and BREP store exact surfaces. The built-in kernel samples them into a mesh, at four quality levels from draft to very fine.
  • Live preview. Inspect the model in a real 3D viewport before you convert, with shaded, material and wireframe views.
  • Units and scale. Convert between millimeters, centimeters, meters, inches and feet, or apply your own scale factor.
  • Geometry cleanup. Center on origin, drop to the ground plane, weld duplicate vertices, recompute normals, flip faces, merge objects.
  • Batch conversion. Load a pile of files, convert them all at once, and download the lot as a single .zip.

Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. There is no server in the loop. Files are read, converted and written inside your browser tab, which is why the tool keeps working with your network off.

Can it convert a mesh back into a STEP file?

No. It writes mesh formats only. Turning a mesh back into a STEP file means rebuilding exact surfaces, which needs a solid modelling kernel rather than a file writer.

Is there a file size limit?

Only whatever your own machine can hold. Nothing is capped by us.

What does it cost?

Nothing. No account, no trial, no watermark on the output. That is the whole point of the site.

    Curve quality
STEP, IGES and BREP store exact surfaces. Converting to a mesh samples them — finer settings follow curves more closely and cost triangles. Changing this re-reads any CAD already loaded.

Writes mesh formats only. Producing a STEP from a mesh would need a solid-modelling kernel, not a file writer.
